Video Enhanced Telemedicine Consultation


Buckhead Concierge Internal Medicine is pleased to offer video enhanced telemedicine consultations to concierge and non-concierge patients.

Telemedicine consultations are intended to treat basic medical ailments while patients are in the comfort of their own home.
Consultations will initially be offered during regular business hours.

To set up a telemedicine consultation see the 3 simple steps below.

The fee for a consultation is $60 for concierge patients and $75 for non-concierge patients. These consultations are not covered by commercial or Medicare inusrance. A credit card on file is required prior to the consultation. Each consultation is scheduled and billed in 15 minute increments.

Patients will be required to have video camera and microphone technology available and activated on their computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

BCIM encourages patients participating in a telemedicine consultation to have access to an oral thermometer, an electronic blood pressure cuff and an electronic pulse and pulse oximeter devices to enhance the consultation. Documenting vital signs prior to your consultation is optimum.

 

BCIM also provides a service called BridgeVisit. The BridgeVisit is a video enhanced telemedicine service to reduce 30-day hospital re-admissions in Atlanta. Services you may expect during your telemedicine consultation:

  • Clinical evaluation and diagnosis, vital signs review.
  • Non-narcotic prescriptions called in as deemed medically necessary.
  • Referral to local specialists in the Atlanta Area.
  • Referral to the emergency room or urgent care center or referral to your primary care physician, as deemed medically necessary.
  • Orders for blood draw at Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, Northside Hospital Laboratory or Piedmont Hospital Laboratory as deemed medically necessary.
  • Orders for imaging such as x-ray or ultrasound by Mobile X, Northside Hospital Outpatient Radiology or Piedmont Hospital Outpatient Radiology.

During the telemedicine consultation you will be evaluated by a physician or nurse practitioner.

The telemedicine consultation is not intended to replace the care you would typically receive from your primary care physician.  Instead, the goal of the consultation is to address common ailments such as cold and flu, sore throat, UTI, sports injury, skin rashes, diarrhea, or nausea.

Narcotics, muscle relaxants, anti-anxiety medications or any controlled substances, will not be prescribed as part of the telemedicine consultation.

Non-concierge patients with follow up questions and concerns for the doctor will require a seperate follow-up telemedicine consultation.
